The secret is out!

Dubbed as "Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret", Belize features endless possibilities that attracts visitors from all walks of the world. Known for its lush rainforest, (the very essence of Belize), abundant and fascinating flora and fauna, its melting pot of intriguing cultures, and an unsurpassed natural beauty. Belize is rapidly becoming the tourist mecca of Central America. Dotting the coastline of Belize are over two hundred isles but the biggest and liveliest is undoubtedly San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Famous for its fascinating sandy beaches, calming swaying palm trees, beautiful people, exciting sport fishing, spectacular diving and its inviting ambiance, 'La Isla Bonita' as we are affectionately known, is the country's tourist capital. With sun-kissed beaches, and the cool breezes whispering 'sweet nothings', Ambergris Caye is the ideal island for adventure enthusiats, laid back travelers, ex-pats, and beach lovers seeking to relax, retire, explore, discover, and even embrace the island-life with open arms.

Once a sleepy fishing village, San Pedro Town has incorporated itself as a laid-back destination where 'No shoes, No Shirt are No Problem." Of the endless activities the island offers, popular activities include intriguing sport fishing, spectacular diving, impeccable snorkeling, magical sunsets, fine dining and culinary pleasures that will keep you coming back time and time again. With a myriad of dive shop operators, book your underwater adventure and marvel at  the magical underwater world teeming with an abundance of fish species, corals, seagrass and mangrove eco-systems. You'll discover a world unlike any other and get a one on one look at special creatures that make up the marine kingdom such as nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, angelfish, blue tangs, green morays, black grouper (endangered specie), bottle-nosed dolphins and even the cuddly Antillean Manatees. These fascinating creatures of the sea  await you...

Sport Fishing

FISHING ON AMBERGRIS CAYE has remained one of the Caribbeans best-kept secrets until recently. The extensive flats, a twenty minute boat ride from the lodge, are picture perfect. Shallow (2-6 feet) and with a whiter than normal sand bottom, these tarpon feeding grounds stretch for over fifty miles and provide the dining room for almost unbelievable numbers of tarpon. Peak periods on the local flats are the months of May through November, though there are fish around 355 days a year, and Winter/Spring months (February, March and April) provide excellent opportunities when the weather cooperates. More importantly, it is uncommon to encounter other anglers once you have left the harbor area. The immense size of these flats, and the lack of fishing pressure has left these tarpon with an very aggressive nature, and they move readily to almost any properly presented fly.

Catch of the day...

Nice catch!

Father and daughter reel in huge tarpon..

 NightLife in San Pedro
When the sun goes down, and the mood is set, San Pedro offers a different ambiance in the night than it does in the day. Party lovers and friends get together to explore the nightlife scene of San Pedro and with a plethora of bars and a few hip-shaking nightclubs, the island comes alive until the wee hours of the morning. Every night of the week something is going on somewhere in this small town. The variety of choices are excellent, from reggae to Punta, from rock and roll to the Mexican sounds of horn and guitar. Each is offered at a differing venue adding to the unique atmosphere of the evening.
You can always find a crowd dancing at one of San Pedro's local disco's.  From the local Punta Rock to popular dance music from the U.S., your island adventure doesn't have to stop when the sun goes down!

Wednesday night is Ladies Night at Dockside where you will find one of the most happening places on the island.  Just take a walk down the beach after the Pier Lounge Chicken Drop and get ready for a mid-week party to spice up your night.
Thursday night is the night for Karaoke at Jaguar's Temple You'll be amazed at the crowds inside this downtown disco and a must do for those people interested in going "local". Also very popular on Friday and Saturday nights with a variety of Punta sounds.

Big Daddy's another local disco, to finish up your week.

Fido's Courtyard
This is a very popular destination with tourists to the island and also home to live music almost every night of the week usually beginning at 8pm.

Pump up the volume.....dance the night away!

Big Daddy's Night Club, a favorite hang out spot!
Island Bars
There are many other local bars on the island that you can visit on your trip to San Pedro.  These include BC's Bar, Cholos Bar, Sharks Bar, and a lot more.  Ask the guide at the front desk for directions and recommendations!
